The University of Nottingham, described by The Sunday Times University Guide 2011 as ‘the embodiment of the modern international university’, has award-winning campuses in the United Kingdom, China and Malaysia. It is ranked in the UK's Top 10 and the World's Top 75 universities by the Shanghai Jiao Tong (SJTU) and the QS World University Rankings, placing it in the top 1% of all universities worldwide. This year (2011) it has climbed rankings published in the Complete University Guide, the Guardian University Guide, and The Times Good University Guide.
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) works with higher education institutions to define, safeguard and improve academic standards and the quality of higher education in the UK.
Nottingham submitted one of the highest numbers of research areas for assessment and 91% of research staff - a testament to our confidence in the international calibre of our academics and the breadth of excellence to be found amongst our staff and students.
Following the RAE results, 90% of all research at Nottingham has been classified of an 'international standard' and 60% as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'.

Working with 350 institutions worldwide, Nottingham has more than 35 active teaching partnerships, providing students with interesting, innovative and international study opportunities. It welcomes initiatives that might include joint or double masters courses, undergraduate courses (twinning arrangements), or articulation and progression agreements.
